The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective financial controls. This role involves preparing financial reports, managing cash flow, and supporting strategic decision-making to ensure the company's financial stability and growth. This role will also support to drive strategic decision-making and business growth.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Challenging the organisation on its revenue maximisation, costs and budgets..
- Implement and maintain effective financial controls and processes to safeguard the organisation's assets.
- Ensure efficient management of cash flow and working capital to support operational needs and growth opportunities.
Strategic Collaboration:
- Act as a strategic business partner to business leaders, providing financial analysis and insights to drive performance and support decision-making.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their financial needs and challenges, influencing and challenging business decisions with financial data.
- Support the development and execution of financial strategies that align with organizational objectives and drive long-term success.
Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance financial processes and systems, embracing new technologies and tools to improve data analysis, reporting, and decision-making capabilities.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial processes across the organization, ensuring efficiency and alignment with strategic goals.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Ensure the finance function supports the wider business through effective communication and strategic engagement with other departments.
Requirements:
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and expertise in financial reporting and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights for business units.
- Leadership skills to manage the finance team and ensure efficient financial operations.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to support business growth and decision-making.
- Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with significant experience in financial management and business partnering.
- Proven track record in managing financial operations and providing strategic financial insights.
- Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with various departments to achieve business objectives.
