OUR SHARED GOAL:
We are committed to driving timely software development that constantly presents new challenges. Utilizing containers extensively in development, we prioritize high automation, standardization, and security within our CI/CD pipelines. We are transitioning to Dev Containers for local development to achieve higher standardization and simplified collaboration within our delivery teams. In our dynamic environment, you will advance the development and support of Dev Containers within the CI/CD pipeline ecosystem. Our goal is to find optimal solutions for issues like network integration and permissions on local clients (WSL2 on Windows and Mac) and to provide custom Dev Container features. You'll work closely with other teams, apply the latest technologies, and contribute to improved time-to-market product delivery.
WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE:
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll streamline developers' daily work and enhance the efficiency of developer teams by centrally providing the development environment based on Dev Containers.
You'll expand existing Dev Container features and develop custom ones tailored to specific needs regarding the development environment, always searching for the best solutions.
Clear processes and onboarding documentation will enable new developers to easily access the development environment.
You'll collaborate closely with various areas to further develop needs and existing approaches.
Your efforts will ensure a future-oriented and secure development environment.
You'll develop automation concepts to minimize lifecycle and versioning issues.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Experience in software development, particularly with deep knowledge of Docker and Linux, ideally in an agile environment, and preferably with knowledge in multiple stacks (Java, Python, Go, or Node.js) and CI/CD pipelines.
Motivation and a desire for continuous improvement to sustainably enhance the development toolchain.
Interest in agile methods (Scrum/Kanban), DevOps, and everything related to GitLab.
Technical expertise with Windows, WSL2, Linux, MacOS, and databases from a developer's perspective, and experience handling restricted permissions.
Proficiency in German and English.
