Learnings from AI: Insights from our Managing Director

In the bustling world of recruitment, staying ahead of the curve is key. Recently, our Managing Director Paul Springall had the privilege of attending two events that shed some light on the ever-evolving landscape of talent acquisition.

Paul sat down with Marketing Executive Jess Dunning, reflecting on his key takeaways from these events.

Reflecting on his experiences, Paul began, “So it's been a very busy week or so. Last week, I was invited to a roundtable event in London hosted by the guys at Odro.

"It was a great event, with lots of stories and challenges shared with some other recruitment leaders, focusing on the topics of the day including a lot about AI.

“And then this week, I have been over to the LinkedIn European head office in Dublin, where I attended their Accelerate Dublin event. It’s a fantastic city and nice to see lots of colleagues not just from the UK and Ireland, but all over Europe.

“Again, there were similar challenges, and AI does seem to be the hot topic that everybody is most focused on at the moment. I think just being able to share your experiences with people face-to-face and realising that you're not the only ones facing these challenges has been a big thing.

“Everybody seems to be grappling with AI and what to do in terms of implementing it within their own business.”

When Jess asked about his top three insights from these events, Paul shared his observations.

"Firstly, don't just implement AI for the sake of it; find the problem that needs solving first and then focus on whether there is a tool to solve that challenge.

"Secondly; the more AI is involved in the world, the more clients, candidates and human beings in general actually do need that personalised human touch.

"And lastly, a key takeaway is the speed of change. Tech has always evolved that bit quicker than most other sectors and over the last 12-18 months we’ve seen it accelerating even quicker. So the need to be aware of what’s happening around us is greater."

From Paul's discussion, it's evident that there's much to learn about navigating the changing world of AI. Watch the video below to delve deeper into his insights.
